Understanding the 'why' behind your patterns to live with greater purpose and belonging.
Adlerian Therapy, developed by Alfred Adler, is a holistic, optimistic, and socially oriented approach to psychotherapy. It understands human behaviour in terms of our striving for significance, belonging, and purpose. Adler believed that individual psychology cannot be understood in isolation; it must be seen in relation to the social and relational context in which we live and develop.
Adlerian therapy explores the lifestyle, the underlying belief system and pattern of relating to the world that you developed in early childhood in response to your family, cultural context, and early experiences. This lifestyle contains your fundamental assumptions about yourself, others, and life. In therapy, these assumptions are examined and new, more adaptive ways of engaging with the world are developed.
Adlerian therapy can be both exploratory and deeply practical. Expect a warm, encouraging therapeutic relationship, a focus on your strengths and capacity for change, and an exploration of how your early experiences continue to shape how you show up today.
